Why I’m Sharing These Field Notes
If you’ve ever climbed a real mountain—or led a growing business like I have—you know the most important lessons don’t come from the map. They come from the trail.
From the missteps.
From the conversations at Base Camp.
From the moments where you’re not sure you’ll reach the summit... but you take another step anyway.
That’s what Field Notes is all about.
I started this blog to capture and share real lessons from the climb—mine and my clients’. Not the polished, post-hike versions, but the messy, meaningful moments that actually teach us something. Things learned in the middle of the fog, in the middle of the quarter, in the middle of figuring it out.
As a Pinnacle Business Guide and the Founder of Higher Peak, I spend my days in the field with leaders—helping them scale, solve people problems, and turn vision into execution. What I’ve found is this: the most valuable insight often comes after the meeting, when the dust settles and the dots start to connect.
So I’m capturing those dots here.
In Field Notes, you’ll find:
Stories from the front lines of leadership
Coaching insights and "a-ha" moments
Trail-tested tools and takeaways
Wins worth celebrating—and brutal facts worth facing
You’ll hear from real business builders navigating real terrain. My hope is that these notes give you clarity, confidence, and maybe even a little company as you climb your own Higher Peak.
See you on the trail.
